§ 62-121. Numbering system.

(a)

The city shall be divided into four quadrants by running two division lines through the city as follows:

(1)

State Highway 70 as presently located shall divide the city into north and south sections, generally following the quarter line east and west through Sections 31 and 32, Township 39 North, Range 12 West.

(2)

The east and west division shall commence at the intersection of South Front Street with the south city limits, running north along Front Street to a point 100 feet north of Poplar Street, thence running northwesterly parallel and 100 feet north of such Poplar Street to the intersection of Scribner Street (CTH "K") and thence northerly on CTH "K". The east and west division shall generally follow the section line between Sections 5 and 6, Township 38 North, Range 12 West, and Sections 32 and 33 and 29 and 30, Township 39 North, Range 12 West.

(b)

North and south house numbers shall run from the east and west division line beginning with the 100 block on either side of such division line. East and west house numbers will run from the north and south division line beginning with the 100 block on either side of such division line.

(c)

Block numbers will run for 330 feet, more or less, with four blocks to a quarter mile, eight blocks to a half mile, and 16 blocks to a mile, adjusted according to the government survey.

(d)

Streets shall run north and south and avenues shall run east and west.

(e)

Even numbers of house numbers shall be on the north side of avenues and the east side of streets, while odd numbers shall be on the south side of avenues and west side of streets.
